Nugget – God’s Not after Performance …

God’s not after (seeking) performance, He’s after intimacy.
Intimacy comes into our most in most parts…
“In-to-me-see”; it means God “knowing” me in my innermost parts, like a husband intimately “knows” his wife. It comes into my thoughts, my desires, and then eventually my actions.
Oh to be known by God!! And then I too will truly “know” Him!
Didn’t He say “this is eternal life, to know God and Jesus whom He has sent” (Jn. 17:3).
After intimacy Jesus won’t (be able to) say “depart from me … I never knew you” (Matt 7:23).
Intimacy comes into our bedroom, our bathroom, our kitchen; and participates there. Nothing and nowhere is exempt.
Performance happens in the public spaces to show to others our “best foot”;
Intimacy shares who we are in truth, and … He desires truth in the inward parts (Ps. 51:6).

So … make me a habitation where Your Presence (Spirit) is pleased to dwell. There must nothing in me that I hold more dear than You. Talk to me every day, I want to know You in an intimate way. I love and adore You, I bow down before You. (Excerpt from song “Habitation” by New Creation).

Remember the apostle Paul’s heart cry –

[8] Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

…. AND …

[10] That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

(Phil. 3:8 AND 3:10).
