I believe every\u00a0 born again Christian struggles with the thought of having to face all kinds of battles daily; from the little<\/em> “naggings” in relationships to that major besetting sin – it is like constant torment.<\/p>\n

Recently, the Lord awakened me to the fact that victory IS<\/em> given to us \u00a0– but we must have a Joshua and Caleb<\/em> kind of outlook towards taking this ‘Promise Land’ of victory that He has given us. Read Numbers chapter 13:30 and 14:6\u00a0to see Caleb’s attitude and Numbers 14:\u00a024 onwards to see God’s commendation of them. Notice that this\u00a0attitude causes God to be able to “bring” them both into the promise.<\/p>\n

As God’s born again sons and daughters, we too have been handed victory – He promised; but we must keep the right attitude of heart.<\/p>\n

Victory<\/i><\/b> has been handed to me \u2026 my enemies have been vanquished by God for me<\/em> and handed over to my authority under God for me to do with them what I will \u2026 like the Israelites; see Joshua 21:44 (NRSV)<\/p>\n

[44]\u00a0And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their ancestors; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands<\/em>.<\/p>\n

NOTE also our Lord’s (ADONAI’s) \u00a0faithfulness<\/i><\/b>:<\/p>\n

Joshua 21:43 (CJB) [43]\u00a0(45) Not one good thing that ADONAI * had spoken of to the household of Isra\u2019el * failed to happen; it all took place<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I must resist the enemy in confrontation (and in submission to God) and then God will<\/i><\/b> give me rest afterwards. (Joshua 21:43 above) and confirmed in James 4:4-8, but especially verse 7:<\/p>\n

James 4:4-8 (CJB) [4]\u00a0You unfaithful wives! Don’t you know that loving the world is hating God? Whoever chooses to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy! [5]\u00a0Or do you suppose the Scripture speaks in vain when it says that there is a spirit in us which longs to envy? [6]\u00a0But the grace he gives is greater, which is why it says<\/em>, \u201cGod opposes the arrogant, <\/b>but to the humble he gives grace.\u201d <\/b>* [7]\u00a0Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. [8]\u00a0Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded people<\/em>!<\/p>\n

So, let us guard our hearts to keep the right attitude so we can reap the promised victory and the rest that eventually comes with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
