One of the Group’s co-founders stated, “I was hearing all this echo and thought the sound engineers were using way too much reverb. I soon realized that it wasn’t reverb I was hearing; it was the audience singing along with us!” God is truly amazing!

Other ministers at the “Fun in the Son” celebration included Papa San and Goddy Goddy.

Subsequent to Fun in the Son, NCGI teams visited and ministered at various church fellowships. These included Christian Life Fellowship, Hope Fellowship, Swallowfield Gospel Assembly, Covenant City Church and Majestic Gardens Covenant Community Church.

On July 21, the Group was invited to perform at the Signature Woman Conference at Hope Fellowship Church. Throughout the event, hosted by Dr. Claudette Cooke, NCGI added the powerful dimension of worship and body ministry to complement the anointed speakers in encouraging the women present to harness the power of sisterhood to make their lives count for the Lord. While NCGI invoked the Holy Spirit with song, members Janet Plummer and Nerissa Jackson were two of the speakers sharing their stories. It was a wonderful time of “sistering”.

Last but certainly not least, on Sunday, July 22, NCGI hosted their Relaunch Concert with an intimate gathering of 300 close friends and family on the Olivier Road grounds of Covenant Christian Academy and Children’s Center. MCs for the program were Pastor Bruce Fletcher and Dr. Claudette Cooke. On this occasion NCGI shared what God was doing regarding the rebirth of the Group and officially introduced the Next Generation ministers, who, together with the foundation members, now comprise New Creation Generation International (NCGI).

The program unfolded with foundation members of the Group ministering choruses, medleys and other cover songs including oldies like “Old Man’s Rubble”, “I Cried A Tear”, “Tree Song”, and a New Creation original and favourite, “I Want My Joy Back”. In a conversational interlude intermingled with singing, foundation members reminisced on times past while updating the guests on their current status. The parents then introduced the Next Genners who led the assembly in a contemporary worship segment, which included some of their original compositions. Later the combined NCGI ministered, closing with their latest release “Sing Again” which is a prophetic declaration of the Group’s restoration by God to sing, dream and build again. At the close of the program, several Church leaders present were invited to pray for NCGI, culminating with Bishop Peter Morgan offering the benediction. The message from that time of prayer was that the reforming of the Group was confirmation of an even larger movement of God to reunite the diaspora for what we anticipate will culminate in a massive revival in Jamaica. A wonderful time in the Lord was experienced by all. No one wanted to leave. The guests lingered in the warm afterglow of the event to embrace and talk with members. The relaunch was a loving, intimate affair as the group reconnected with old friends, family and well-wishers in the presence of the Lord.

God is indeed faithful and we continue to look for the unfolding of His plan. Special thanks to all who supported NCGI in this venture including, Dr. Claudette Cooke, Pastor Dennis Kerr and Sound Engineer, Bobby Stewart, among others. We deeply appreciated the support, encouragement and labour of love from all persons who touched our lives in hospitality, transportation, rehearsals, ministry and prayer.

Ministry in Jamaica 2012 After being in hiatus for many years, and through a series of God ordained circumstances, New Creation made a glorious return to the Jamaican Gospel scene as New Creation Generation International (NCGI). New Creation members, along with their offspring (fondly referred to as “Next Genners”) converged from various corners of the […]

[7
